In this video, we're going to look at private stores.

First of all, what is a private store? A private store is a store on your site that is only accessible by certain users or groups of users.

They will have access to different products and will check out in different ways than the general public.

Private stores can be used to support sales to your largest accounts.

These can be large companies, government offices, universities, and hospitals.

In short, any account you service that has a large number of employees and multiple branches can make great use of a private store.

Let's take a look at an example of a private store and how it is different to the public store.

This page is the public store for this site.

It displays the public products.

However, once we log in with an account that is a member of a private store, things change.

As we logged in, the site recognizes that this user is a member of the Smart Company and is now displaying the private store for the Smart Company.

At the top of the page, we can see the Smart Company logo displayed.

Most importantly, when we visit the store page, we no longer see the public store products.

Instead, we see the set of products that is private to the Smart Company.

The last important set of changes implemented for a private store is visible during checkout.

Each private store can use different methods for calculating shipping costs and different methods for payment.

For each private store you build, you can force private store customers to pay by credit card, just like public store customers.

Or, if you offer payment terms to the company, the private store users will pay via invoice.
