Smt Expo Artwork Submission Demo Tutorial & Guide

This video provides a step-by-step demonstration of the SMT Expo artwork submission system, covering login, booth selection, file requirements, uploading, and the checkout process.

Video Transcript

In this video, we'll illustrate using the SMT Expo artwork submission system.

The first step in the process is to log in.

If you have not yet received a username and password, please contact SMT Expo and we will create an account for you.

You must log in before you can use the system.

Once you've logged in, you should see a list of available exhibitions for which you can submit artwork.

Simply click on the appropriate exhibition.

For this demo, we've clicked on the ESCA SEC exhibition in Asheville, North Carolina.

Once you have selected the appropriate exhibition, you'll see a list of the various booth types that are available.

In this case, there's only one booth type available, but for many exhibitions, there may be more than one booth type available.

For this demo, we have selected this three-wall booth type.

Here, we can see a more detailed description of the booth type we have selected.

In this case, the booth has an 8x10 center wall and low return walls at left and right.

This page will also display a dropdown field containing the name of the exhibition.

Finally, this page displays a field where you should enter the booth number for which you are submitting the artwork.

Our production team need this information to correctly print and package the booth.

For this demo, we have entered the booth number A123456.

We move to the next step by clicking the button labeled upload your artwork.

Now we see the page where we will upload the artwork files.

This system has a number of specific rules for artwork files you submit.

First, the only file format allowed is PDF.

If the file format you have received from your customer is any format other than PDF, you must convert it to PDF before you can submit it.

Second, the artwork for each wall should be placed into its own one-page PDF file.

This system will reject files containing multiple pages.

Third, the dimensions of the PDF file must match the dimension of the wall system.

You cannot submit files that are half-size or quarter-size with the expectation that we will scale these up for you.

The system will reject files for which the dimensions do not match the required dimensions of the wall system.

Each different booth type requires a specific number of artwork files.

If the booth type is three walls, you will see three upload fields.

If the booth type is two walls, you will see two upload fields.

If the booth type is only one wall, you will see one upload field.

The booth we have selected has three walls, so we see three file upload fields.

Each of these upload fields is clearly marked left, center, and right.

Here, we drag and drop the correct file into each of the various file upload fields.

This is the field for the left wall, so we drop the left wall artwork file here.

Once we drop a file into the field, the system automatically begins the file upload process.

Next, we drop the center wall artwork file.

Finally, we drop the right wall artwork file.

Once the upload process is complete for all the files, we click this button labeled validate uploaded files.

Our system is now verifying that the artwork files you have submitted match the requirements.

If the system detects a problem, the system will stop processing and will display an error message.

The error message will indicate which of the artwork files was rejected and why it was rejected.

If the system rejects one of your artwork files, you will need to fix the problem with the file and then upload all the artwork files again.

If all of the artwork files pass the pre-flight checks, then the system will show you a preview of how the booth will look.

At the top of the page, we see the booth number and the exhibition name.

In the middle of the page, we see the projections of the artwork files onto the walls of the booth.

Please take a minute and confirm that everything displayed in this page is correct.

If everything is correct, then you can hit the button labeled approve.

Once you hit the button approve, you are directed to the shopping cart page of our production management system.

Although you have approved the artwork files themselves, this order is not yet registered in our production management system.

It is crucial that you continue on with the checkout process.

We will continue with the checkout process by clicking the button labeled checkout.

The page we see now is essentially the final step in the process.

At the left side, we see the information from your account and your company's data.

At the right side, we see the exhibition information, including exhibition name and booth number.

If everything looks correct, click the button labeled place order.

It is only after clicking the place order button that the order is fully registered in our production system.

Once the order is registered, the system will display an order confirmation page.

You will also receive an order confirmation by email.

Thank you very much for watching this demonstration of the SMT Expo artwork submission system.
