Video Transcript

In this video, we're going to take a look at the new material design style for the Print Science Designer.

To begin with, we're going to take a look at the older or classic design style.

The classic design style contains this gray background and at the right, two pop-out panels.

The first labeled pages shows a page preview, and the second labeled designs shows the different designs or templates available.

At the top is a toolbar containing a number of widgets.

There's a page changing widget, there's a zoom in zoom out widget, and then a number of buttons with text labels.

Now we're going to launch the same product using the material design style.

Here you can see that there's a new loading animation.

The material design desktop is much more modern and cleaner looking.

At the right we still have the page preview panel.

We have cleared out the buttons and widgets that used to be at the top.

This has provided space where you can insert some text or a logo.

We have added a second toolbar into which we have placed a zoom slider as well as a switch to turn on and turn off the guidelines.

The other buttons that used to be in the top toolbar area have been moved to the right-hand side.

The button allowing your user to download a PDF, add an image block, add a text block, and control the display of the template pop-up.

Making changes in the new user interface is very similar to the way it was before.

Your user will highlight a block and then see an edit box where he can make changes.

The set of controls on the text edit box is exactly the same set that was in the classic design.

The new design is much more modern looking and much cleaner.

For image blocks, the set of controls is again essentially the same as it was in the classic user interface.

And again the look is much more modern and much cleaner.

We have replaced both the rotation and the zoom widgets with sliders, which are easier to use.

As before, once your customer has finished making all his edits, he will hit the approve button up at the top and our system will create the new PDF.

Switching to the new interface is fast and simple.

At the account level, simply click on the user-interface link.

Then select the interface style that is going to be used by default for all the products in your account.

If you prefer, you can choose the interface style on a product-by-product basis.

Simply navigate to the product and then select the interface style that will be used for that product.
